This document outlines the use of the IBIS software package. The package is an implementation of the immersed boundary method for simulating problems in which elastic objects are immersed in an incompressible fluid. The package includes a preprocessor to allow the package to work on a variety of problems, a numerical simulator and a graphically oriented postprocessor.

The development of IBIS has been supported by the National Science Foundation under grant numbers DMS-9307643 and DMS-9805518.
