Picture A Scientist
The AWM is holding a special screening event for the documentary film, 'Picture A Scientist'. Picture A Scientist is a film based on the personal stories of 3 female scientists and documents the systemic discrimination faced by women in STEM fields. To learn more about the film, you can visit the film's website here. This event is in collaboration with GWBE (Graduate Women in Biomedical Engineering), Curie Club, GALS (Graduate and Advanced Ladies in Science), GIG (Genetic Interest Group), and UCC (University of Utah Counseling Center). All are welcome to participate! Please register for the event by October 9th at 11:59pm. Those who register will be given a private screening link that will be available for the viewer to watch within a 48 hour time frame.

Nilima Nigam received her PhD from University of Delaware in Applied Mathematics. She is a Professor at Simon Fraser University and her research interests are in the areas of PDE and numerical analysis. In this talk, she will be presenting in GSAC on her career in mathematics.
