TA Workshop
Before the semester begins in the fall there will be a mandatory ten day long TA Workshop run by the Mathematics Department for its new teaching assistants. Kelly MacArthur of the Mathematics Department is the main lecturer. The math department's Nicos Georgiu, Nick Korevaar, Andrejs Treibergs, the Graduate Program Coordinator Jacque Green and two experienced graduate student facilitators, Megan Gorringe and Brendan Kelly will also participate. Guest lectures will be given by Peter Alfeld and Peter Trapa from Mathematics, and Donna Ziegenfuss from the Marriott Library. The new TA's will present practice lectures some of which will be videotaped, and write practice exams and course syllabi.
