Math Instructor Training Workshop (August, 2018)

In August, there is a eight day long Math Instructor Training Workshop run by the Mathematics Department for all incoming graduate students.

The first four days will be a general overview of graduate life and teaching responsibilities, and will include talks from from Davar Khoshnevisan (Mathematics Chair) and Elena Cherkaev (Director of Graduate Studies).

The last four days will be open to incoming post-docs (as well as any older students who may want a refreser) and focus on University specific resources, such as Canvas, the LGBTQ Resource Center, and the Office of Equity and Diversity.

Kelly MacArthur (Assistant Chair of the Mathematics Department) is the main lecturer, and will be joined by three experienced graduate student facilitators: Anna Nelson, Jenny Kenkel, Rebecca Terry, and Gregory Handy.
