Information for undergraduate mathematical biologists
Overview
Undergraduates can discover the exciting world of mathematical biology in traditional classroom setting, small group research projects, and individual research projects with faculty and post-docs.
Courses
Interested undergraduates should consider enrolling in
- MATH 1170-80 - Calculus for Biologists
- MATH 4800 - The Mathematics of Disease
- MATH 5110-20 - Introduction to Mathematical Biology
Funding and research opportunities
In the past we have funded small, interdisciplinary (mathematics, biology, and physics majors), undergraduate research teams involved in collaborative research led by two of our graduate students. This year the REU group is investigating molecular motors.
Students have also worked on individual projects directly with our faculty.
