Ute Cab Tel: (801) 359-7788
Yellow Cab Tel: (801) 521-2100

Please note that Salt Lake City taxis are difficult to find on the street. They are best requested by telephone.

The organizers recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the University Guest House, because transporting luggage from the closest mass transit stop to the Guest House may be quite inconvenient. However, depending on circumstances, some participants may prefer to choose going by mass transit, as described next.

Mass transit: For trips around town, the TRAX urban transit system is convenient, once you know how to get from the Guest House to the stop and back. Information on TRAX and city buses can be found here.

It is also possible, and may be convenient for some, to take a green -line TRAX train from the airport to the downtown Courthouse stop (450 South Main Street), and then transfer to the University red -line that continues up the east bench to the Guest House and University Hospital area. The closest stop to the Guest House is the Fort Douglas stop, just one before the final one at the hospital. One-way fare is US$2.50; all-day passes are US$6.25. The passes are good on all Utah Transit Authority (UTA) services (bus, tram, and TRAX).

UTA transit tickets and passes must be purchased from automated machines on station platforms, before you board; once on board, it is too late, and ticketless passengers risk a fine by random inspectors.

The University of Utah campus map can be found here . On the sidebar of the map, there are links to the free campus shuttle routes and schedule, as well as the TRAX and bus schedules.
