Text: Calculus, with Differential
Equations, by Varberg, Purcell and Rigdon, 9th editio, ISBN-10:
0132306336, ISBN-13: 9780132306331.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: "C" or better in MATH 1250 OR AP Calculus BC score of at
least 4.
Goals and objectives: Completion of MATH 1260 is
equivalent to completing the entire three-semester Calculus I, II, III
sequence. Vectors in the plane and in 3-space, differential calculus in
several variables, integration and its applications in several variables,
vector fields, and line, surface and volume integrals. Green's and Stokes'
Theorems.
Homework: There will be weekly WeBWorK assignments.
Students may discuss the problems with others. The lowest two scores will
be dropped.
Grading:
The course grade will be based on WeBWorK, three midterm exams, and
the final exam.
The exams are closed-book, with no calculators; there are no make-up
exams.
Last day to withdraw from classes: Friday, Oct 18.
