Diploma thesis on the global existence of non-convex solutions for the averaged mean curvature flow

written by C. Kneisel
supervised by Prof. Dr. Joachim Escher
with numerical simulations by Uwe F. Mayer

Abstract: Based upon a result of Simonett and Escher it is shown that convexity is not a necessary condition for the global existence of a solution to the averaged mean curvature flow.

Key words: Averaged mean curvature flow, global existence.
