The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City. The nearest airport is Salt Lake International (SLC). Taxis are always available at the exit of the terminal. Look for "Ground Transportation". The University's campus (and the Guest House) are in Salt Lake City, east of 500E. Therefore, the taxi ride (20-25min) should be at a flat fare of $30 plus tip and tax. Make sure you confirm with your driver what the flat fare is, as soon as you get into your car.

The Trax (our tram) passes through Campus close to both the Guest House and the math department. It can get you from the Airport to the Guest House in about 50-60 minutes and costs $2.50!

Driving directions to campus.

Salt Lake has very good public transportation. There are several buses and trams (called the Trax) connecting the different parts of the city. Here, you can plan your trip, see maps, schedules, fares, and more.

Parking on campus (information and maps). Note that you can park at the Guest House as part of your stay there, at no extra charge.

The lectures will be taking place at the Spencer Fox Eccles Buisiness Building, or briefly SFEBB. (The official address of the building is 1655 Campus Center Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84112.) The plenary talks will be on the fifth floor in SFEBB 5130. Short talks will take place in SFEBB 5130 and also on the third floor in SFEBB 3180. The lecture rooms are each equipped with two LCD projectors and numerous white boards.

SFEBB is a 15 minute walk from the Guest House. Note that breakfast is included with your reservation at the Guest House. However, there is a Cafe right next to the lecture room on the fifth floor of SFEBB.

You can also take the free Campus Shuttles. Take the Red shuttle to go from the Guest House to the School of Business and take the Blue shuttle for the other way aruond. Ask at the reception for the where the Red shuttle stops near Guest House and then tell your driver you're going to the School of Business.

Reservations: 801-587-1000,

Participants not receiving our financial support should make their own hotel arrangements.

Special FPD rates: $99/night for single (1 king bed) or double (2 queen beds) rooms.
The deadline to make sure there is availability is April 14, 2016.
After this date you will still get the $99 rate, but it will be subject to availability.
If you are making your own arrangements, mention the Frontier Probability Days conference when making a reservation.

If you do receive our financial support (in particular, if you are a plenary speaker) we will take care of your hotel arrangements. You will be lodged at the University Guest House and (unless you are a plenary speaker) will share the room with another participant.

If you prefer not to share the room, please indicate this when you fill out the registration form. Note that you will then have to pay for half the rate yourself.

Whether you receive financial support or not, if you wish to look for a roommate, check the corresponding button in the registration form and visit the Sharing a Room page.

Also only the nights of May 8,9,10,11, 2016 will be covered by the financial support.

Other hotels that the math department often works with are Monaco and the Marriott.
