This webpage is the designated page for Math 1030-02. I am the course
instructor, and will be posting homework assignments, quiz/test dates, and
changes to the syllabus here. If you are a student in this class and have
questions, please come by. If the scheduled office hours won't work for
you, email me or just stop in to make an appointment.

News & Announcements
(1/21/05) Here are some notes to
accompany the lecture on multiplication and powers.
(1/21/05) Since some people have the 2nd addition of the textbook I will
be posting (in .pdf format) the problems from the 3rd addition. That
way you will be able to compare those problems I assign with similar
ones from your book. Chapters 1 & 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 8, Chapter 9, Chapter 10. Please email me if you have any questions.
(1/28/05) Here is a worksheet on
inductive and deductive argurments. It should clarify some of the things
we talked about in class, and it will be a great help for preparing for
quiz #1.
(2/18/05) These are some notes related
to quiz #3 and our discussion in class today.
(4/11/05) For the second exam you should review quizzes 4 through 6 as well as
the homework assignments from chapters 4, 8 and 9. The only formulas that will be given are
the savings plan formula and the loan payment formula.
(4/22/05) Monday(4/25) and Wednesday(4/27) will be devoted to reviewing
the material we've studied this semester in preparation for the final. To help
you study, there is a review of chapters 4, 8 and 9
and one for chapters 1, 2, 3 and 10.
(4/27/05) For those interested, we will have an additional review for the
final Thursday morning from 10:45-12:40. The location will be LCB 323.
Group Projects
The projects are due April 18.
They are to be completed by groups of three students.
I need to know who is in your group and what topic you've chosen no
later than March 30. (This will be part of your grade.)
Additional Info.
Time will be devoted to group project work on Wednesday April 6 and
Friday April 8.
