Syllabus:

I will lecture two class meetings a week. The other two class meetings each week
will be devoted to doing homework problems in
class. I will call on students to go to the board and do the
problems and I will keep a record of how many problems each student
does successfully. I will also collect homework and a sample of the
problems will be graded (most likely the ones not done in class).

There will be three midterms and a final exam. I will drop the lowest
midterm score for each student. The midterms will determine 40% of
your grade, the final exam 40% and your solutions to homework
problems 20%. The latter will be based on a combination of your in
class presentations and your graded homework.

Exams:

Feb 8 midterm
Mar 7 midterm
Apr 11 midterm

Mon April 30 8 AM - 10 AM Final Exam

Assignments:

The following schedule is tentative and will certainly
change later, since we may end up spending more than one day on some
sections or we may add some sections to the list that are not on it
as of now. The lists of assigned exercises for each section are
being reviewed and will likely change before we get to that section.
