Daniel Smolkin

I am a fifth year graduate student at the University of Utah.

I am studying the world of varieties in characteristic p under the guidance of Karl Schwede. My current research focus is on formulas for test ideals and multiplier ideals. I also do work on the problem of growth of symbolic powers of ideals and in algebraic statistics. I'm also interested in applications to cryptography and computation.
