Quizzes and Exams:
Quizzes will be given on Fridays and may be take-home or in-class depending on the flip of a coin. Take-home quizzes will be due the following Monday. On each of the midterm exams, there will be a take-home part and an in-class part. The take-home part will be given out the class day before and must be turned in on the exam day before the in-class part. No late work will be accepted! Here are a few guidelines for any take-home work. If you do not follow these, I reserve the right to return it ungraded.
- Your writing must be clear and legible.
- Your solutions should be well-written, showing your work and
using written explanations with complete sentences to justify your results where necessary. A list of answers without work is not acceptable!
- If you write in pen, there should be no scratch-outs.
- Do not turn in paper torn from a spiral notebook with ragged edges.
- Staple multiple pages.
- Organize and clearly label the problems.
The final exam period will consist of two parts, an in-class "final exam" covering the material since the last exam and a Proficiency Exam (in dvi or pdf ). No make up exams will be given!
