A little mathematical history of myself...

My math life started a while ago, in 1995, when I enrolled at the Math Department of Universita' degli Studi di Milano .I spent there 4 years, completing the math program with an address in general mathematics, stressing in particular the fields of geometry and analysis.

In 1999 I got in touch with Professor Gian Pietro Pirola, from Universita' degli Studi di Pavia and with him I wrote my thesis, Algebraic Curves defined over the Algebraic Closure of the Rational Numbers , investigating Grothendieck's theory of Dessins D'Enfants and a preprint work by Vladimir Voevodsky proposing to use the combinatorial data of the dessins to construct a sequence of abelian varieties approximating the Jacobian of the algebraic curve.

I defended my thesis and graduaded with 110/110 and Laude on March 3rd, 2000.

Throughout the Spring of 2000 I kept working with a few professors of University of Pavia, attending seminars and graduate courses in Algebraic and Arithmetic Geometry.

Currently I am a graduate student at the University of Utah, working under the guidance of Professor Aaron Bertram. I am interested in Gromow-Witten Theory and, more in particular, in the application of Topological Quantum Field Theories to this area, after the work of Jim Bryan and Rahul Pandharipande. Here is a non-technical description of my reaserch area and ambitions! And, since they say one picture is better than 1000 words, I hope you enjoy the following illustration!
