*************** ANNOUNCEMENT ********************** * University of Utah Mathematical Biology Seminar * *************************************************** Thursday, October 22 at 2:30 pm in INSCC 110 Speaker: Mary Beckerle (U of U Biology) Title: How do cells crawl? Abstract: Cell movement is essential for embryonic development, wound healing, and cell mediated immunity. It is now well established that cell migration depends on the polarized assembly of actin filaments at the leading edge of a cell. I will discuss recent work from my lab that is directed toward characterizing the molecular machinery involved in spatially controlled actin assembly.
