Book: Larson and Hostetler, Precalculus 7th edition. There is also a solutions manual - highly recommended.
Exams: September 30, November 4, December 4
Final exam: December 15, 3:30-5:30 p.m. in JTB 310
Rules: In-class quizzes every other Friday, starting 8/28 (unless there is an exam that week). Starting September 4, a take-home quiz (assigned on Wednesday) will be collected at the beginning of class every other Friday. The take-home quizzes are to be treated as usual quizzes - no collaboration allowed. A copy will be given to the tutoring center with a request that tutors not work out the problems on the take-home. Quizzes turned in after class has started will lose 10%.
Homework assigned daily but not graded. Calculators are not allowed on quizzes or exams. Lowest quiz score will be dropped. No makeups on quizzes (no exceptions). Anyone with a calculator or cell phone out during a quiz or exam gets a zero on that quiz or exam.
There is no extra credit. No "extra work" can be done at the end of the semester. Everyone gets the same shot, and work must be done on time.
