Homework: weekly homework will be assigned
on the website above. It will be collected weekly for grading purposes.
Although not all problems will be graded, it is extremely important
to do all the homework. Test's problems will be often
modeled after the homework problems or problems discussed in the class.
Collaboration is encouraged but
copying may hurt you in many ways.
Homework
is very important. Practice is the best way to learn something.
Submitting the homework.
1.Write your name at the top of the first page.
2.Put the problems in order, indicating clearly what you have skipped.
3.You MUST Staple
your homework when it has more than one page.
4.Turn in assignments in time. No late homework
will be accepted.
5.Write neatly. If your homework is too messy, a grader may choose
not to grade it.
Midterm exams: There will be two in-class exams
during the semester. Midterms are closed book, closed note, and no calculator.
*Dates : TBA
Make-ups will not be permitted except for severe medical
problems or dire family emergencies. A written note from an appropriate person
(doctor, parents, etc.) is required. If at all possible, you should notify
me before the exam.
unacceptable excuses - Overslept, mistaken the date, friend getting
married, etc.
Final: Closed book and closed notes and
no calculator.
Attendance: Many college students treat class
attendance as optional. This may be fine for some classes. However, in
math classes you can get way behind very fast. I would not penalize you
for non-attendance, but you should come to class every time unless you
are seriously ill.
And remember: office hours are not replacements for missed classes!
