Final reminder about Midterm 1

Midterm 1 will take place this Tuesday (Tuesday, September 18) in class. It will last 50 minutes. Please be at least 5 minutes early to ensure we start on time, and please bring your University issued student photo ID.

Typo

It's been pointed out that there is a typo in the announcement for Homework 2. In Section 1.5, I don't expect you to hand in question 36 twice, and it's much too late to replace it with the question that was meant to be there. Please ignore the typo. I've fixed it below.

Recitations begin tomorrow (August 30)

Remember that our recitation sections begin tomorrow. There are 4 possible recitation sections you can choose to attend, and their locations and times can be found by:

You may attend any and all of them, provided there is desk space available for you. Recitations are made available in order to provide you with a space wherein you can ask the TAs questions about class material and suggested problems. There will be an emphasis on conversation over lecturing, and the possibility of group work. Please make use of this valuable resource.
