Grading : Two Midterm Exams (25% each); Final Exam (30%); Lab (10%); Problem Sets (10%)
Exams : Two midterm exams are given. Their dates are Tues 10/5 and Tues 11/9. No make-up exams are given, save for extraordinary circumstances. You must provide verifiable and convincing evidence of that which prevents you from attending. Also, advanced warning of such an absence should be given if possible. A review will be given either in class or at a separate time a few days before each exam.
Problem Sets : A few problems are assigned from each sections. To sufficiently understand the material, I recommend you complete additional problems. Assignments are always due at the beginning of lab (7:20pm) on the due date specified. No late work will be accepted for any reasons, especially since I drop the two lowest problem set grades. Assignments are given below.
LON-CAPA : Every week except for exam weeks, you will be assigned a few problems on the LON-CAPA system. The lab in which you meet every Tuesday is meant to be a help session where TAs can assist you in working out and submitting answers to the assigned problems. However, you may submit solutions to LON-CAPA on any computer with an internet connection by going to the website.
Syllabus: More complete course information.
Blackboard: Some redundant information to that given here, like assignments and syllabus, but you may also check your grades there as I accumulate them.
