Education:

I am currently a second-year Ph.D. student at The University of Utah, studying algebraic geometry related to moduli problems and Gromov-Witten Theory. Other academic interests include game theory, geometric topology, mathematical physics, and (in particular) string theory. I have not yet chosen an advisor or thesis topic.

I earned my B.S. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I studied Pure Mathematics intensively and Economics and Financial Mathematics more leisurely. I graduated with distinction and honors in May, 2011.

Outside of Math:

I play tennis seriously. In high school, I was a state runner-up in the great state of Michigan. Here at the University of Utah, I am the Vice President of our club tennis team, the Utah Tennis Club.

I play the guitar, the drumset, the piano (a bit), and sing. I have training and interests in jazz, funk, (Latin) fusion, pop, and rock.

I absolutely love to cook, and some day I may open a restaurant. My favorite chef is Tyler Florence.
