Information about Test 5

• Reminder: There is a test, our last, on Wednesday, December 2. It will take the full 50 minutes and covers Chapter 8, Sections 1-4.

• Topics covered are:
  1. solving systems using Gaussian elimination and back-substitution

  2. solving systems using Gauss-Jordan elimination

  3. adding, subtracting, and multiplying matrices

  4. finding the inverse of a square matrix and using it to solve a system of equations

  5. computing determinants

• Calculators are allowed, but should not be needed. As usual, you must give exact answers and show all work.
