  5. Derive the Quadratic Formula
    Starting with ax^2 + bx + c = 0, use "completing the square" to derive the quadratic formula on the chalkboard in my office, or on a sheet of paper, your choice. You get one shot, NO RETRIES, so MEMORIZE every detail. This is worth 10 points on your final exam, up to 200 points (the final is out of 200 points).
