Prerequisites:Math 1210-1220 or Math 1250-1260. Previous exposure to vectors or a multivariable Calculus course might be helpful.

Course Description and a brief syllabus: MATH 2270 is devoted to linear mathematics. Our topics are linear equations with matrices, linear transformations in terms of matrices, subspaces of R^{n}and their dimensions, linear spaces, orthogonality of vectors, determinants of matrices, eigenvalues and eigenvectors of linear transformations, quadratic forms, and linear differential equations. More detailed syllabus will be updated in the section 'Class Announcement' in this webpage below. Please check this page regularly.

Course Policies:

Attendance: Please come to every class. You are responsible for everything said in class including changes in the course syllabus and this information webpage.- Calculators are NOT allowed to use on Exams.

Homework: There will be weekly HW assignments due on every Thursdays. Be sure to make your work self contained. Give a complete answer. Symbols or formulas by themselves may not be enough. You need to include a diagram or words of explanation. The due dates and problems will be announced and updated in the section 'Class Announcement' in this webpage below.
