  1. Hello. Welcome to Math 4400 website. In the first message, I would like to point out a couple of interesting links. There is an archive of NT related site , and here is a page about prime numbers.

  2. You should read chapter 4 and I highly recommend the following link which is a very entertaining documentary about Fermat's Last Theorem.

  3. (09/17/07) The first midterm would be in-class this Friday(09/21). It covers Chapters 1 to 11. You are allowed to bring your calculator. Any potential conflict should be reported to me immediately.

  4. (10/05/07) The Monday October 15 class will be canceled (following your vote today). Since some of you also voted for a make-up class, I will have an OPTIONAL make-up class at some point.

  5. (10/05/07) Extra-credit projects: these will be short presentations, to be done during class time at the end of the semester. You can earn up to 10% of your final grade. There are a lot of possible topics, but you need to talk to me in advance about what you are going to do (during October).

  6. (10/17/07) The second midterm would be pushed to Monday 10/29 (instead of Monday 10/22) by popular demand. It will cover Chapter 11-21 (only Chinese Remainder Theorem for chapter 11).

  7. (11/30/07) I will hold extra class on Monday 12/10 to answer your questions before final. Details coming soon.
