Plan for 2280, Spring 2015

A passing final grade of C- is 55+ percent, earned by textbook problems, take-home exams, in-class exams, computer labs, semester project, semester project class presentation, optional final oral exam. 

Records with less than 55 percent earn a final grade of D+, D, D- or E, depending upon the effort expended and the body of work recorded. A scale for D+, D, D-, E is recorded in the course syllabus. Historically, only 10\% of the class earns such a grade.

Absolute due dates appear in the syllabus for the following:

     two one-hour midterm exams
     final exam, university scheduled for two hours
     committee for an optional final oral exam
     textbook problems
     take-home exams
     computer labs
     semester project abstract
     project in-class presentation
     semester project publication (PDF only)

Final grades of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C are assigned based upon performance over and above the minimum passing score of 55 percent. The final grade scale is published in the syllabus, where you can find details about grade assignments and sample computations.
