Dear Class, The maple 15 instructions apply to maple 9.5, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, with obvious changes to command lines, e.g., change "mapleV15" to "mapleV12". To use maple 15 on the local unix systems, invoke it by command line xmapleV15 & or xmapleV15 & To use maple 15 with the classic window interface [no java], invoke it by the command line xmapleV15 -cw & After starting maple 15, set the OPTIONS on the tool menu as follows: Display --> Input display --> Maple Notation Display --> Output display --> 2D-Math Notation Interface --> Default format for new worksheets --> Worksheet Apply Globally When working with maple 15, you should see red text on input and blue text on output. If your typing is black, then exit Maple, start it again, and look for a change. If no change, then repeat the steps above, assuming a typo. The linalg package is supposed to work in maple 15. Loading of package LinearAlgebra and then loading package linalg should make the commands of both available. To run the classic window interface under 32-bit windows, launch the application "cwmaple" located in the win.bin subdirectory of the maple12 installation in Program Files.
