The outline given in class, which also follows Otto's textbook solution
manual, happens to work fine, provided the step about the form of the
matrix B is obtained from Fact 4.3.3 page 169. The example given in class
which questions the construction does not cause conflicts and the form
of B is correct directly from the advertised construction.
