Math 6010: Linear Models, Fall 2006

Time and place: 11:50--12:40 MWF in LCB 222.

Text: Linear Regression Analysis by George A. F. Seber and Alan J. Lee (Wiley, 2003). Available at amazon for $93.31.

Prerequisite: Math 5080--5090.

Topics covered: We will attempt to cover as much of the book as we have time for, probably Chapters 1--8. The main topics are linear regression (Ch. 3), hypothesis testing (Ch. 4), confidence intervals (Ch. 5), and analysis of variance (Ch. 8).

Grades: There will be a midterm exam around October 13 and a final exam Tuesday, December 12 at 10:30 a.m. Homework will be assigned periodically, and there will be two SAS projects. Grades will be based on homework (30%), SAS projects (20%), midterm (20%), and final (30%).
