Student Seminar in Applied Math

3:30-4:30pm Fridays, LCB 219

This is a new seminar called "Student Seminar in Applied Math" (MATH 7875-6, registration number # 25912, two credit hours in the fall of 2004).  Students are welcome to register. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you are registered or not.

This seminar is planned and run mostly by students; a faculty member will coordinate the meetings and advice on the reading. The participating students are expected to present one or two lectures and actively participate in discussions. The topics of presentations are either current papers on the subject or the students' projects. The grade is based on presentations and participation. The seminar may be of interest for students in other departments.

The seminar is currently being organized by Andrej Cherkaev, Dali Zhang, and Carlos Bonifasi-lista.

To receive announcements for upcoming seminars, send an e-mail to student-applied-math-request@math.utah.edu with "subscribe" in the subject line, or visit the web page at http://www.math.utah.edu/~dzhang/student_seminar.html.

If you are interested in speaking for the seminar, please contact Dali Zhang: (801) 585-7659,  dzhang@math.utah.edu, LCB 207, or Carlos Bonifsi-lista: (801)585-7657,  carlos@math.utah.edu, LCB 315, or Andrej Cherkaev: (801)581-6822, cherk@math.utah.edu, JWB 225.
