This is a new seminar called "Student Seminar in Applied Math" (MATH
7875-6, registration number # 25912, two credit hours in the fall of 2004).
Students are welcome to register. Everyone is welcome to participate,
whether you are registered or not.
This seminar is planned and run mostly by students; a faculty member will coordinate the meetings and advice on the reading. The participating students are expected to present one or two lectures and actively participate in discussions. The topics of presentations are either current papers on the subject or the students' projects. The grade is based on presentations and participation. The seminar may be of interest for students in other departments.
The seminar is currently being organized by Andrej Cherkaev, Dali Zhang,
and Carlos Bonifasi-lista.
