Some Sample LaTeX Files and How-To Guides:
- List of 2226 math symbols in LaTeX.
- A 147 page book called The Not So Short Introduction to LATEX2e. This is by far the best "introduction" that I've seen so far. They say you should be able to read it in "139" minutes, but I'd plan on spending an afternoon with it. In case my link doesn't work, here's a hyperlink to perhaps the site where I may have found it.
- The first time I encountered LaTeX was during my physics REU at Indiana. Here is a good list of some things to look for.
Some LaTeX files I've written:
Feel free to use any of these files as templates. After writing my thesis, I learned many shortcuts that I didn't know when I wrote up one of my algebra assignments in LaTeX. I think the environment and commands were perhaps the most tricky thing to write up, but I believe my algebra (available in tex or pdf) file should be enough to get someone started with writing up math homework assignments.
- Summer REU project report: (pdf, tex, dvi).
