Read Chapter 7, Sections 1-5. Read the subsequent
applications if you have the time and/or interest.
Chapter 7 problems. 7.19, 7.22 (Hint: Characteristic functions, as in the proof of
the CLT), 7.25 (Hint: First prove that Poisson(n) is a sum of n i.i.d. Poisson(1)'s.),
7.30, 7.31.
- Week 4. (Solutions | Due Nov 2nd) Please remember that there are no
lectures during the week of Oct 24)
Read all of Chapter 6; also read Chapter 7, sections 1-2 (they will not be covered in
lectures)

Chapter 7 problems. 7.1.
