** Lectures:** MWF 10:45-11:35 in room LCB 219. Syllabus.
** Grader: ** TBA

** Textbook:** Varberg, Purcell, Rigdon, *Calculus with Differential Equations*
** Final Exam: ** Tuesday, December 14, 10:30-12:30.
** Office Hours:** (in LCB 106) Tuesdays 10-12 and 2-3. There is also the Math Tutoring Center in LCB.

### Exams (tentative schedule)

The exams are closed books, closed notes, no calculators. However, you are allowed one piece of paper (letter-size) with anything on it.

** Quiz 1**: September 20, Chapter 11. Here is a practice test with solutions. More practice problems (Sample Test Problems pp. 614-615): 1, 5c, 7, 10 , 11, 17, 21, 23, 28, 29, 33, 35, 39bc, 40, 41bd, 44. Here are solutions for the even numbered homework problems in chapter 11. Quiz 1 with solutions: pdf (there is an error in the solution for Problem 3(c): the circle has radius square root of 2, not 2).
** Quiz 2**: October 25, Chapter 12.
Here is one practice test with solutions and another one. The following textbook exercises would also make good (typical) test problems: p.673: 9, 15, 20, 24, page 634: 22. Solutions to the even numbered practice problems. Here are solutions for the even numbered homework problems in chapter 12. Quiz 2 with solutions: pdf
** Quiz 3**: November 19, sections 13.1-13.8, topics with solutions to the even numbered problems.
Here is a practice test and solutions
Quiz 3 with solutions: pdf
.
** Final Exam:** December 14, 10:30-12:30 am, Chapters 11-14.4. **You are allowed one (and only one) sheet of paper with anything on it for the final!** The list with the main topics is here. Here is the Practice Final and solutions. There is an error in the solution for problem 3; here is the corrected version. An actual test from three years ago: Practice Final 2 with solutions pdf. In the fourth problem, the triangle has vertices (0,1), (0,0), (1,0) (see the solutions). I'll have extra office hours Monday 12/13 2-4 pm in LCB 106.

### Grading scheme

The lowest score on the quizzes will be dropped. The lowest score on the homework sets will be dropped as well. (A missed quiz or homework get automatically the score 0. Make up quizzes are only given when the reason is officially approved by the university.) The two remaining quizzes will count for 2x150 points, the final for 300 points, and the total homework score will be 200 points.

### Homework

You should include in your solutions the details of the calculations and reasoning; it is not sufficient to turn in just the final answers. The homework is due at the beginning of class. Late homeworks are not allowed, except for a medical or some other university approved reason.
