Prerequisites: Math 2250 and either Math 1260 or Math 2210.

Course Content: The course covers chapters 1-4 and 6-7 of the textbook. We will study methods of solving boundary value problems for partial differential equations. We will discuss the wave, heat, and Laplace equations. The main tools will be separation of variables, Fourier series and Fourier transforms.

Homework: A list of assigned problems  will be given at the end of every class period. The homework will be collected every week. No late homework will be accepted.

Exams: There will be three midterm exams,

Grades: 30% for the homework;  45% for three midterms; 25% for the final

ADA: The ``American with Disabilities Act'' requires that reasonable accommodations be made for students with physical, sensory, cognitive, systemic, learning and psychiatric disabilities. Please contact me at the beginning of the semester to discuss any such accommodation for the course.

Tutoring is available in T. Benny Rushing Mathematics Center from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Monday - Thursday, and 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Friday .
