Math 2250-005/006: Differential Equations & Linear Algebra Lab

Spring 2011

Course Information

Course Description: This lab course is a recetation that is intended to suppliment your Math 2250 lectures. In the lectures you will learn about introduction to differential equations, and how they are used to model problems arising in engineering and science. Linear algebra is introduced as a tool for analyzing systems of differential equations, as well as standard linear equations. Computer projects will be assigned to enhance the material. In this lab course we will spend the majority of class time working through additional example problems similar to those seen in your general lectures. In addition, you will be introduced to some of the mathematical software available to you on the University computers. This software will be very helpful in completing your homework assignments and the semester project. Also, your midterms will be administered during the recitation section so that it does not inturrupt the normal flow of the sequence of lectures but also so that you have more time to complete the problems.
Those of you enrolled in Math 2250 sections 5 or 6 must concurrently be enrolled in Math 2250 section 4 which is the lecture part of this course. The lectures are given by Professor Korevaar in room LCB 219 on MTWF from 10:45 AM to 11:35 AM. More information can be found at his website listed below.
