Erin, Sarah, and Bobby’s May 2007 Trip to Squamish, Canada

We left on Tuesday (May 1, 2007) around 10:30 pm, and drove through the night, arriving in Vancouver around 2:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday.  We hung out with Eric Cytrynbaum for about 6 hours before completing our journey up to Squamish.

One of the best parts of the drive was the huge white barn we saw in central Washington.  In big red letters, 10 feet tall, was written on the side of the barn:

FRUIT ANTIQUES

APPLES PEARS

ASPARAGUS WINE

Which is worse, fruit antiques, or asparagus wine?  We were really wishing we had the camera out, and joked that we should take it out just in case we saw another funny sign.  Well, we didn’t take the camera out, but we did see almost the exact same sign just down the road from the first.  If anyone living in Yakima, Washington, reads this and wants to send me a photo, I’d love it!

Here is a photo of Bobby in Vancouver, and another of West Vancouver, both from near Eric’s home (near UBC).

Thursday morning saw rain and clouds.  But the sky cleared up (somewhat) by mid-afternoon, so we went climbing in the Smoke Bluffs, just outside of town.

Here are some photos:
