Down The Road

Where are the Macintosh and PC/Windows versions of NCSA Mosaic?

Coming! We will make public announcements when they are ready.

The Mac version of Mosaic is in early alpha; an information page is here.

What's going to happen with NCSA Mosaic in the future?

NCSA Mosaic is continuing to undergo development. In the future we hope to substantially expand NCSA Mosaic's capabilities as both a window onto a diverse and dynamic universe of information on the Internet as well as a tool for network-based collaboration.

What determines development priorities for Mosaic?

Any given functionality or feature request gets judged according to the following criteria:

Is it needed to satisfy requirements for internal NCSA projects or priorities or for projects for industrial or commercial concerns that are helping to fund Mosaic development and support?
If so, the given request goes to the top of the heap.
Is it needed to fulfill Mosaic's role as a high-powered networked information systems browser and World Wide Web client?
If so, the given request has a pretty good chance of being fulfilled in the near future.
If it needed to make Mosaic a better general purpose network data browsing tool?
If so, the given request will probably sit in the queue for quite a while until we have time to get to it.

How can I help NCSA Mosaic's developers build a better, faster, stronger product for me to use?

Send us your comments, suggestions, and bug reports. Send us ideas you have for new functionality, or better ways to do what NCSA Mosaic already does. Send us comments about NCSA Mosaic's user interface (or lack thereof). All of these things are greatly appreciated.
