The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the largest professional organization in the world for K-12 teachers of Mathematics. The goal of NCTM is to promote improvement in the teaching of mathematics at the K-12 level. To further this goal NCTM sponsors workshops and conferences for mathematics educators, offers four journals devoted to the teaching of mathematics at several levels, and provides a wealth of information useful to K-12 teachers of mathematics.

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is an organization for college and university faculty with an emphasis on the undergraduate teaching of Mathematics.
