Text: "Introductory Mathematical Analysis" by Haussler, Paul & Wood, Costum Edition for the University of Utah, Pearson Costum Publishing, 2005.

Prerequisite: Math ACT score of 23 or grade of C or better in MATH 1010.

Attendance Policy: You are expected to come to class regularly and to participate actively. You are responsible for all the material covered in class, and for any announcement made.

Grading Policy:

Homework 25%
Tests 45%
Final Exam 30%

Homework. Homework shall be assigned at the end of (almost) every class, and shall be due on Friday of the following week, at the beginning of class. You can find the homework assignments in the schedule page. We shall only grade randomly selected homework problems, usually out of 10 points each. The problems that we do not grade shall count 5 points each, and you receive the 5 points if you have at least a partial solution to the problem. If you turn in your homework late, you only receive 5 points for each problem you turn in.

Practice Problems. Several practice problems shall be assigned at the end of every class. You can find the complete list in the schedule page. You do not need to turn this problems in for grading, but you are expected to solve all of them. You can find the answers to the practice problems in the back of the book.

Tests. There shall be 3 tests, each worth 15% of your grade. Right now, they are scheduled as follows (but dates might change):

Final. The final exam is a comprehensive departmental exam. It will be on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at 3:30pm-5:30pm in the special room JWB 335.
