- Here is a list of Problems for you to review for the first Test:
- Section 1.1, Numbers 33, 34, 53, 54, 61, 62.
- Section 1.2, Numbers 63, 64.
- Section 1.3, Numbers 55, 56, 64.
- Section 1.5, Numbers 33, 34, 35, 36, 39, 40, 43, 44, 49, 50.
- Section 1.6, Numbers 11, 12, 13, 19, 21, 26, 32, 33, 46, 47, 54, 55.
- To practice for the Test, do the following Problems out of the Review
Exercises for Chapter 1 (on pages 137-141 of the book): Numbers 26, 28, 29,
30, 32, 34, 35, 36, 43, 47, 59a, 61, 64, 65, 66, 67c, 68, 69, 71.
- To practice for the Test, do the following Problems out of the Chapter
Test for Chapter 1 (on pages 141-142 of the book): Numbers 8, 10, 12, 14, 15,
16, 17, 18, 19.
- Note: At least three (out of five) problems on the test are going
to be exactly like the problems above, except that with different numbers.
You are not expected to solve all of the problems above, but you should at
least read the questions to get an idea of what kind of questions will be on
the Test.
- Test # 2 - Wednesday 3/9
- Here is a list of Problems for you to review for the second Test:
- Section 2.2, Numbers 35, 36, 45, 46.
- Section 2.3, Numbers 3, 6, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30.
- Section 3.2, Numbers 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, 19, 21.
- Section 3.3, Numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 15, 17, 21.
- To practice for the Test, do the following Problems out of the Review
Exercises for Chapter 2 (on pages 203-207 of the book): Numbers 53, 54, 55,
56, 57, 59, 60.
- To practice for the Test, do all the odd Numbers 5-27 out of Section 3.2.
- To practice for the Test, do the following Problems out of the Review
Exercises for Chapter 3 (on pages 290-293 of the book): Numbers 9-24, 26, 27,
31, 33, 34.
- Note: You are not expected to solve all of the problems above, but
you should at least read the questions to get an idea of what kind of
questions will be on the Test.
- Test # 3 - Friday 4/15
- To review for the Third Test, start with looking at all of the homework
that was assigned out of sections 4.3, 5.3, 6.2, 6.3, and 6.4.
- To practice for the Test:
- For Section 4.3, do as many of the odd problems in the book as you can.
The problem on the test out of 4.3 will be one of them, except maybe for the
numbers changed into easier numbers.
- For Section 5.3, do as many of the odd problems in the book as you can,
especially the ones in the part that says "Economic and management
applications."
The problem on the test out of 5.3 will be very similar to two of them
combined together.
- For Chapter 6, do as many of the following Problems out of the Review
Exercises for Chapter 6 (on pages 484-487 of the book) as you can: 20, 21,
22a, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 45, 51, 52.
- To practice for the Test, do the following Problems out of the Chapter
Test for Chapter 6 (on pages 487-488 of the book): Numbers 8, 10, 12, 13, 14,
15, 16, 17.
- Note: You are not expected to solve all of the problems above, but
you should at least read the questions to get an idea of what kind of
questions will be on the Test.
- Note: You are allowed to use a calculator on the test, and to bring
a sheet of paper with formulas on it.
You may be asked to turn the sheet of paper in with your test.
- Final - Wednesday 5/4 - 3:30-5:30pm - JTB 140
- To review for the Final, look at the following problems out of the Review
Exercises:
- Chapter 0 (pages 54-56): 23-28, 39-44.
- Chapter 1 (pages 137-141): 13-15, 22, 26, 28-29, 30-36, 43-49, 55, 66-67,
68-69, 71.
- Chapter 2 (pages 203-207): 19-24, 25-28, 47, 52-54, 55-60.
- Chapter 3 (pages 290-293): 12-25, 26-31, 34.
- Chapter 4 (pages 370-373): 13-20, 35-36.
- Chapter 5 (pages 419-421): 1-2, 23-26, 27-28, 44-48.
- Chapter 6 (pages 484-487): 14-22, 26-29, 30-34, 35-37.
- In addition, look at the following problems out of the Chapter Tests at
the end of the chapters:
- Chapter 1 (pages 141-142): 5-6, 7, 8-9, 12, 13, 14-15, 16.
- Chapter 3 (pages 293-295): 1-6, 7, 10-12.
- Chapter 6 (pages 487-488): 1-17.
- Note: You are not expected to solve all of the problems above, but
you should at least read the questions to get an idea of what kind of
questions will be on the Test.
