Spring 2007 Schedule

As part of the REU program we offer a "presentation seminar" during the spring term. REU students are expected to attend, and any other undergraduates who are doing independent projects are also invited. As the semester progresses we hope to have you make presentations to the group, related to your research. Faculty and graduate students will be available to consult on your presentation before you actually make it.

What we hope to accomplish with the seminar is:
  1. You will hear about some interesting math from some of your peer Math majors, and maybe make some new friends.

  2. You will experience the process of preparing for and making a mathematical exposition - this involves a lot of useful skills, even though it can be kind of scary at first.

  3. We hope that some more advanced students use this seminar as a springboard to make presentations elsewhere.
