Spring applications are due - Friday, January 20, 2012 Work on a research project in Mathematics under the mentorship of a member of the faculty. You must have a member of the Mathematics faculty who is willing to serve as your mentor. Discuss with the prospective mentor the scope and design of your project and prepare a project description. Time Commitment: 10 hours per week, on average Compensation: for the semester: $2,000 for first-time awards, $1,000 for continuing awards Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Permanent Resident Expectations: Meet regularly with mentor, give a talk with slides, and generate an evaluation To apply: January 20, 2012 Complete the online application form. Submit your project description, a letter of support from your mentor, and a current unofficial transcript (generated on CIS) to Nick Korevaar (korevaar@math.utah.edu or LCB 204) by January 20, 2012.
