On the first day, there were two lectures in the morning and one lecture in the afternoon. After that, there were two lectures in the morning and a problem session in the afternoon. Wednesday afternoons were free. During the first week, either Jim Carlson or Domingo Toledo lectured on basic geometry of complex hyperbolic space: models of complex hyperbolic geometry, curvature properties, totally geodesic submanifolds, boundary of complex hyperbolic space, the Heisenberg group, groups of isometries, and actions of discrete groups. The problem sessions were led by Martin Deraux and Javier Fernandez. This provided a good opportunity to learn basic complex hyperbolic geometry. During the second week, Richard Schwartz (University of Maryland) lectured on discrete group actions on complex hyperbolic space. His lectures lead to a discussion of his work on the Goldman-Parker conjecture on deformations of triangle groups and on the work of Falbel and Parker. Elisha Falbel (University of Paris) also gave some lectures during the second week. This was a good opportunity to learn the current state of research in complex hyperbolic geometry.
