This minicourse covers delay differential equations and their applications. Both the theoretical and more practical aspects of working with these systems will be covered. Sessions will deal with stability, bifurcations, asymptotics, numerical methods and modeling with fixed and distributed delays. In addition, the use of delays will be discussed in applications including biology, optics, population ecology and traffic modeling.

Funding support is available for graduate students who are US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.

This course is funded by a NSF-RTG in Mathematical Biology and the Department's NSF-VIGRE grant.
