Calculus Challenge

Calculus Challenge logo Who: The Calculus Challenge is open to all undergraduate students at the University of Utah.

What: A 3 hour campus-wide contest, the Calculus Challenge offers tough problems, the chance to show your stuff, and prizes up to $200. Necessary background is first year calculus through infinite series.

Where: LCB 219

When: Saturday, March 31, 2007
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Why: First prize: $200, Second prize: $100 Third prize: $50.

How: No books, no notes, no calculators. Bring your own pencils. Scratch paper will be provided.
 
Everyone participating in the Calculus Challenge is invited to stay for a free lunch and a discussion of the solutions, beginning at noon. Prizes will be awarded at the Department of Mathematics Awards Ceremony in April. Interested students are invited to RSVP by sending e-mail to Angie Gardiner. (This is to get a rough count for lunch. You are welcome to participate and stay for lunch even if you don't RSVP.)
