ESCape ()

Request command recognition by the parsing system. This character,
normally an ASCII ESCape character, can be changed at any time by the
EDIT command described below. When given as the last character of a
command keyword, and immediately followed by a carriage-return, it
requests that the keyword be completed if necessary, and any
guide-word, or noise, string typed as an indication of what is expected
next. If the keyword is not unique at the point, the terminal bell
rings, the recognition character is deleted from the input buffer, and
the line is retyped allowing the keyword to be extended, or a query
character entered to find out what matches to that point.
