Faculty Positions
There are no faculty positions specifically targeted for Mathematical Biology currently available. However, applicants in Mathematical Biology are encouraged to apply for the open positions that exist within the department.
For a description of all job opportunities in the Math Department, check this page.
Post-Doctoral Positions
We are currently accepting applications for up to two RTG post-docs for the 2007-2008 academic year. For more information, see the RTG web page.
Application for these positions is made to the Mathematics Department
(see this
page). A statement of interest in the RTG program and in
research in Mathematical Biology is important to help identify candidates
for this position.
There is also one postdoctoral position
available to work with Aaron Fogelson and Jim Keener on a NSF-NIGMS Grant on
the Formation and Function of Physiological Gels. The candidates for
this position must be a recent recipient of a PhD in Mathematics,
Applied Mathematics or related area, with expertise in fluid or
continuum mechanics, numerical computation, and must be willing to
work on research related to the topics of the grant, namely, the
growth of fibrin gel networks during blood clotting, vesicular
exocytosis of mucin gel, and the growth and regulation of the mucin
layer in the stomach.
Graduate Students
Support for graduate work in Mathematical Biology is by four means, departmental TA's, the IGERT program, the RTG program and research assistantships (to advanced students only).
Information about these opportunities can be found elsewhere on these pages.
