Title: Chase-escape with death

Abstract: In this talk, I'll discuss a competitive growth model called chase-escape with death. I will define this process and discuss how it fits into an important class of probability models called random growth models. Random growth processes have been used to model a variety of physical systems including tumor and bacterial colony growth and competitive infection spread. In the case of chase-escape with death, we can think of this process as a simplified model of predator-prey dynamics. We will look at chase-escape with death on regular $d$-ary trees and show the existence of two phase transitions. This is based on joint work with Keisha Cook, Nicole Eikmeier, Sarai Hernandez-Torres, and Matt Junge.
