"A Predator-Prey Interaction Model with Delays"

I will explore the usefulness of delays in realistic modeling of predator-prey interactions. Relatively simple models of this type can result in a surprising variety of dynamical behavior, as is apparent from numerical simulation. Unfortunately, proving analytic results is much more difficult with delays, due to the infinite dimensional nature of the solution space. Using some standard tricks from ordinary differential equations and some interesting results from nonlinear functional anlaysis, we will look at questions of linear stability and the existence of periodic solutions.
