4th Annual Student Workshop: Projects

Of course, these projects are open to anyone, but first and second year IGERT students are required to complete one. It is recommended that these be done in pairs or threes, for the sake of interaction and lightening the load. Let us (Noelle, Zack, or Sean) know which project you plan to work on, so there is little to no overlaps. You may choose any of the eight projects in the pdf below, which Bard so graciously conceived. Feel free to extend these in whatever way is interesting to you. Here are their working titles and some helpful links:

(1) A phase model in the spherical brain.
(2) Canards in the Hodgkin-Huxley equations.
(3) Non-bogus population dynamics.
(4) The Reynolds model for inflammation. Reynolds paper
(5) Noise-driven Morris-Lecar. Morris-Lecar equations
(6) A Volterra equation for a seashell.
(7) Waves in the Wilson-Cowan equations.
(8) Optimizing an artificial liver.

Projects: This pdf contains directions for all 8 projects.
