If yes, would you please tell me the setting you made.I have tried to get output using DVIALW driver but I think the setting of printer switches were incorrect and I couldn't get any output.Computer was saying I have send it to printer but no responce were on Printer. If you are using any other driver, I would like to know if it is public domain and if so where can I ftp it? Thanks by now .. How is your Apple LaserWriter IINTX connected to the IBM PC? Serial line, or parallel cable? If serial, then the xport program in the DVI distribution is needed, because PC DOS does not support Xon/Xoff flow control on serial ports. If parallel, then "copy /b foo.alw prn" should be sufficient. ======================================================================== Nelson H.F. Now I have discovered a problem, which probably can be solved by readers of this list (I'm sure :). It's the way of handling the one inch offset at the top and at the left border of the page. I'm not sure, if I must scale the offset with the magnification of the TeX file, or if it is always exactly one inch. I.e. = * / 1000 or = It's a problem for me, because my drivers does have the possibility to set the offset from the command line. So, many people use the offset to set the position of the upper left point correctly for their printers. But if I scale the offset, the upper left point will change. Now I'm not sure, what's the usual behaviour for this. One solution would be, to make command line switches for 'true' and 'not true' offsets. E.g. "hoff=1truein" or "hoff=1in". But what should be the default? Since the standard [section 2.5.1] does specify explicit coordinates (in mm, not in DVI units), the offset must not be scaled. Shall I add a note which explicates this? (At least I will add a note to the rationale.) -- Joachim // PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF EMAIL ADDRESS !! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Joachim Schrod Email: schrod@iti.informatik.th-darmstadt.de Secretary of TUG DVI Driver Standards Committee
