It is necessary for teachers to establish and understand methods available for engaging students in mathematics work that encourages the development of concepts, skills, and ability to apply those concepts in appropriate situations. This course will concentrate on those methods through the discussions of mathematics topics that teachers find most difficult from the standpoint of engaging the students and students' performance. This course fulfills the USOE Methods for teaching mathematics requirement. Only teachers currently employed by Utah's school districts are eligible to enroll in the course.
